7 Years of Youth Theatre Magic
Hi!
My name is Millie Hardy-Sims and for the last 7 years I have been running youth theatres in the local Cockermouth and Workington area of Cumbria. I have had four companies over that time and have staged more than 20 shows.
I thought it was high-time I documented it all in one place.

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, based on the Narnia novel by C.S. Lewis (2015)
Performed at Theatre Royal, Workington:
The Lost Boy, an original play based on the life of J.M. Barrie (2014)
Treasure Island, based on the novel by Robert Louis Stevenson (2016)
(Happy Thoughts Drama Company is currently on sabbatical and will return in 2019)

Unhappily Ever After, an original play based on fairytales by Charles Perrault, Brothers Grimm, Hans Christian Anderson, and characters from English legend (2016)
It's a Wonderful Life, based on the film of the same name (2016)
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, based on the books by L. Frank Baum (2017)
The Wind in the Willows, based on the books by Kenneth Grahame (2017)
A Night with the Second Stars, an award ceremony and farewell to me (2017)
Performed at the Moorclose Community Centre, Workington:
Hansel and Gretel, based on the fairytale by Brothers Grimm (2015)
The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, based on the fairytale by Marius Petipa (2015)
(Second Star Youth Theatre is now under new management (since September 2017) and is known as Theatre Royal Youth)
Wendy House Theatre
Based in Cockermouth, for ages 4-8.
This group was purely for learning drama skills and did not end in full stage shows.
(Wendy House Theatre was disbanded after 4 months due to lack of interest)
Showstoppers Drama Club
Based in Eaglesfield, for ages 7-13.
Originally started as a school drama club, this group has now branched out and started to perform shows.
Performed at Eaglesfield Paddle C of E Primary Academy:
Robin Hood and the Silver Arrow, based on the English legend (2018)
